I thought that Facebook would be the best place to start.
This is the first of many and will definately not include everything that pisses me off about it.
Where to start...oh let me count my options.
Well, lets start with the site itself and then branch out from there.
facebook SUCKS.
Deal with it, it does.
Unless you are a useless noob, you have now realized that it is useless except for stalkers, perverts and social outcasts. Let's see why it sucks.
First, it's layout. LAME, I need to say it again. LAME
It has the most boring layout with an uncustomizable interface that gets boring after about the first week when you have found all your friends from yore and added them and then never say a single fucking word to them.
*This will be a forthcoming topic about facebook, so let's not get de-railed.*
Ok, back to the layout. It looks like the graph I made in the first wordprocessing document I ever used, like 20 fucking years ago. There is a box, at the top and on the sides which you cannot customize, who doesn't like to pimp their site, you know, show a little creativity but I guess for the orange peels who use the site to play shit games like farm town and mafia wars and take lame quizzes that determine what type of bug shit they are, this may appeal to them because they have no personality and fail in life in the first place.
I guess the point is, let some customization happen and not just useless apps that no one really likes in the first place.
Ok, ok. you are now saying, cut the shit bro, we know you use it.
Ok, I do. But only as an address book and sometimes for messages but thats it.
You may also be asking why are the only people who use it perverts, stalkers and social outcasts.
Perverts are obvious;
stalkers troll the status updates and photo updates in order to write some asswiped bs on someones wall hoping that they will like them and sit and stare at other peoples pictues and never upload any of their own.
Finally, the social outcasts. These people need to find acceptance and self confidence knowing that they have 500+ friends of whom there may be 2 or 3 they actually talk to on a regular basis. These are the guys from a party, or 6th grade field trip or went to the same school who wants to add you because they know who you are maybe because of a sibling or some other 6th degree of kevin bacon shit that they self realize in their twisted fucked up minds that cause them to add you as a friend and then when you deny them, they try to add you again. This I do not understand and would like to find out why people do this.
So, this is where I leave this topic for now.
What do you think of facebook or the people on facebook?
Post comments and we will see if you want to join me with your thumb up on the side of the road or want to protect that lame shit and rebut my simple views.

Facebook's security is very weak I know of at least twenty people about two weeks ago that got a virus from a shared video that was going around Facebook. I HATE IT, I'm so sick of everyone asking me , "why don't you join Facebook?" because I HAVE A LIFE! anyone who is on Facebook needs to get a life.
ReplyDeletei can't stand that friend network, it is very overated. my friends kept telling me to join saying how great it is, and when I checked it out...it's not even that good. Worst of all - A dull layout, no HTML, no style, that's terrible.
ReplyDeleteI TOTALLY AGREE. People on Facebook are stuck up snobs who don't want to take a minute of their life to actually SEE or TALK TO their friends. They update their status every minute; its like they don't have anything better to do than BRAG about their dull and dreary lives, making every little thing into a popularity contest. The worst part is those people who join just to put pervy pictures on their accounts. I never have had and never will have an account on that over rated, suckish, dull website.
ReplyDeleteEverytime somebody asks me to make a Facebook, I prevail to deter by asking the ultimate question "Why should I?" Nobody can tell me a single good reason that I can't dispute in some way. "You can talk to friends!" Thats why I bought a phone and paid for texting. "You can find old friends!" If I really wanted to keep in touch with them, I would have kept in touch with them. "You can post pictures!" Thats what I have a photobucket for, and its unlimited uploading space. "It's so much easier to share stuff that I want you to see!" Well, if its not worth you going the extra mile to show me it, then it must not be that much worth me seeing, huh?
ReplyDeleteThe list goes on and on, but when it all boils down and I have refuted their remarks, I asked my own personal age old question "If you can't give me a good reason to make one, why do you have one?" And they always respond with "Because I have fun on there" and I ask "Doing what?" they reply "talking to friends". Its at this point I ask them "Ok, can I smash your cellphone?" It never fails they tell me "No!" and I instantly reply "Why not?" and they reply "Because I need it to talk to people!" Finally I respond "No you don't, thats what I said earlier, and you told me that all you would need was Facebook."
I created an account, and literally went straight to the DELETE button because in the time it took me to make the account, I realized I had no desire to be apart of this life-sucking social site. It's a site of hypocrisy. Most people wouldnt give me a picture of them if I randomly walked up and asked them for one, but they will upload their pictures will full access to public.
I could rant about this forever, but stay strong my brothers (and sisters) against the FaceBook Phase
While you made some great arguments I fail to see how "social outcasts" should be enough to be an irritant that's simply in someone else's way in this life, I figure if they're bad off, well then, hey- - tough breaks. Excellent point about fb & the cellphone!!! I have so many points to make myself I almost don't know where to start, I'll just list them consecutively then & try & keep it brief: 1)people not paying attention to when you do have to bring stuff up & like they expect you to just keep repeating yourself, 2)"the goodies among us" & their "I can do no wrong attitude" & their respond on cue loyalists and then I saw one saying "why don't u just push your halo up with your horns" hahaha!!!! 3)whining baby girls (who also go completely psychotic) & want all the rules of life in their favor and so it doesn't take long for them to become the very thing they claim to detest & fb to them is the equivalent of Mommy 3)ppl who complain about stuff ppl do on fb that's NOT even a big deal 4)careless, rude remarks that seem to get worse w/ the telling & where u keep aksing what you did to deserve THAT 5)the highbrows the type who not are a little too good to have anything to do w/ you & will eat only the finest of gourmet and are on their way to a wine testing in europe after visiting the fb store- and there's more than a few that have connections w/ others u can't stand & they usually have an attitude like all get out 6)crazy women talking about the same silly ^%$# at the same exact time & alot of them don't even know each other!! 7)whiners whining about whiners 8)stupid fb "fads" like duck faces/bathroom photos, etc.!!!! 9)Mother-in-law syndrome (or some other syndrome) when u first get on your friends list it doesn't take long to weed out personality disorders & the above is just one at times reminds me of as a teen & we'd have people over we didn't know too well & they would over-stay and atttitudes would go south quick and like what the &^%$ are they doing there then!?!? 10) people who have to make comments you would rather they just didn't say they might as well go around w/ a bullhorn in public for all that ---- there's just so much more tho'!!! Actually, fb has been mostly a good experience these days for me, after I got rid of a ton of miscreants I don't know but i think fb will probably go extinct, with the coaleciing of technologies inc. "social media" this seems to be even more evident & I cite you or another referring to ridiculous app sites that could be so much more than they are & so, like other failed social sites will also go by the wayside, eventually.... I could be wrong. Sean
